Since we moved to Alaska, I seriously have given up the idea of EVER getting a good night's sleep on a regular basis. In the summer you don't want to sleep because it is light all the time. In the cooler months you don't want to sleep because you have things like this making an appearance when the geomagnetic field is just right...
So the other day, we should have gone to bed early because we were getting up stupid-early.... But did I go to bed? Of course not! Because I got free tickets to go see someone.
So I finally get to bed, and can I sleep? Of course not!! And the more I focused on trying to relax and fall asleep, the more awake I was!
So at 3 am I rolled out of bed, and we loaded up and headed south again. But a beautiful morning greeted us a couple hours later.
So we geared up, loaded up, and set out hunting.
Of course while we were looking for critters, we were enjoying the beautiful scenery.
We did see some critters while we were out there, but not what we were after that day.
Joshua and I were walking down a trail at one point, and Jack had the camera.
So we didn't bring anything home on that trip, but it wasn't unsuccessful. Fresh air, family time and beautiful views always make it worth it.
