Volunteer Recognition

Back on May 21st, my husband and I got into the van and headed to post to go to the "Division Headquarters." I had been cordially invited by General Something-Or-Other to come and be recognized for my volunteer work. (Don't you love my name dropping? I'm so a-political when it comes to my hubby's work.)

So we went, I sat in the special section and we listened to the Airborne Chorus do a little perfomance.

Then we were called up by unit and by name...

Shook some people's hands...

Were postitioned on the stage by height...

(This photo is from a friend that was there)

And had a Photo Op.

Then we received certificates and had a luncheon. I have been invited to several of these over the years....but this (like The Military Ball) is the first time I actually showed up.

I really don't need to be recognized for volunteering some of my time. It's just a thing. But since we are leaving the unit after all these years, I thought I would finally play nice and go :-)

Play-Off Football Game

Last week, the day after the semi-finals game, was the final season game of the year.

As always, the game was intense, hot, and very well matched.

The final score, and we were the red score.

So tomorrow, we will be heading to the state capital for the State Championship. I was so proud of the boys. This was our very last season here, and it is something we have enjoyed immensely. I appreciated the sportsmanship and positive environment. There is no match to this league.

The fact that their final season went completely undefeated was just frosting on the cake.

HFL Football Semi-Finals

So yesterday was our "semi-finals" for the Homeschool Football League.

One of the boys on our team came with his dog, dressed up in team colors. She was our mascot for the day.

They took team pictures prior to the game as well.

And then the game began, and boy was it a nail-biter! The two teams seemed to be playing tag-team with the scoring. The entire game was all-out for the goal line.

In the end, our team won, and man was it close! Today is the FINAL game. Who ever wins this one, goes to state.

Homeschool Choir - Spring Concert

Last night was my daughter's homeschool choir concert.

The entire Chenaniah Choir

Ladies' Ensemble

This is one of my favorite songs ever, so I was thrilled to find out her choir was singing it.
