The Ball

Last night was our Redeployment Ball.

It began with the usual ceremonies...the posting of the colors, the National Anthem, and introductions.

Not to mention the toasts...."To the Ladies!"

Then it was time for the making of "The Grog." That evil, terrifying, alarming, dreadful, ghastly, hair-raising, formidable, frightful, horrifying, intoxicating brew of everything deadly.

My hubby was part of that ceremony, and added the "Champ Pain"....after the quality check.

Pure Evil.

After the ceremonial taste-testing and perfecting of the brew (to include Iraqi sand) the youngest soldier at each table was charged with serving everyone.

It might look innocent....like Hawaiian Punch. But that will knock you flat on your behind! Just to give you an idea...before they even start adding anything to it, the base contains 10 bottles of Vodka.

You have been warned.

There was a guest speaker...LTC (Ret) Hugh Mills. A very captivating speaker at that. He served three tours in Vietnam, and was shot down 16 times!!! It was an honor to hear him speak this evening.

After the ceremonial portion of the evening was concluded, the colors were retired...and then it was "Commence with the Chaos!"

A dear friend, Sarah, snapped a couple pictures of my hubby and I on the dancefloor.

We danced...Sarah in the red dress.

There was posing and socializing. Look at my handsome hubby!!!

It was a great evening, and my dress even turned out nice!
