Mid-Year Refreshing

It is that time of year again. The holidays are over, and the school year is back in session. Each year at this time, I sit down and go through everything....and see where we go from here.

I look at each subject, and see where we are in it. How many weeks are left for each subject? When will we be wrapping up the school year if we stay on schedule? Is there anything I need to scrap and do something else with?

What about supplies? Is there anything we are short of? Will the notebooks have enough room to finish out the school year? What do we need?

One of the major changes I am doing, is our lesson plans. This year, I decided to give a pre-made planner a try.

Well, my conclusion was....nope. It was much easier using my personal sheets that I have. Each student has their own page each week. The schedule is already made, what subjects what days...even my "Make your bed and eat breakfast" checklist. So I decided to scrap the planners, and go back to our own. The planners were neat, and I loved the periodic notes of advice and encouragement, but logistically, they just didn't work for us.

Do you have a "routine" that you go through mid-year if you're a homeschooler?
