Over the extended weekend, my children all went to a Youth Camp in Sterling, Alaska......500 miles away! These are a few of the 169 pictures (she's so my daughter) Jennifer took on the trip.
This is a great way to put some of that zucchini to use, if you are blessed enough to have some in your garden. Oh how I wish I had my good garden going this year!

So THIS mom had to do something to keep busy. This is our coffee table. Years ago this was also a project. I tiled the top of it and framed it out with some trim. It was great. Very durable, looked nice. But 8 gazillion moves later, it needed help.
Yesterday I went geocaching in Fairbanks, and took a few pictures with my phone while I was out and about.
First, this was on a hiking trail that I was tromping down...okay, it was really a ski trail....but man oh man! I couldn't imagine skiing down that hill!

One day, you might be going along doing your thing, having a nice day, when suddenly something happens..... you hear something, you see something, and it just knocks the wind out of you.
This week, there was a story about a group of soldiers who were charged $2,800 for having "too many bags" when returning from Afghanistan. The story went "viral" after a couple of the soldiers posted this video on YouTube.
When we came home on Wednesday from checking our fish traps, I had received an e-mail asking if we would like to accompany the Youth Corp the next day at one of our sites, to do some seining. We jumped on it!
Yesterday morning we headed out to do our weekly study with the Fish & Game department of Fairbanks. All of these photos were taken by my daughter Jennifer.
This was our first Memorial Day here in Alaska. As with many people across the country, we had a picnic this day. But unlike many people across the country, we had some unique things brought to share at the potluck.
