Photos at -41 Degrees

Yes, you read that right. On November 20th, I was out taking pictures at -41 degrees. Granted, I only took a few...but the colors were inspiring, and I wanted to grab a few snapshots to use later as inspiration for some paintings.

This is the Chena River.



Snow Machine tracks....along with lots of animal tracks as well on the river.




This is a fenced in area, owned by the city. It is a "snow collection" area, where they pile snow as they gather it off the streets, and haul it away with dumptrucks to an area where it can stay for months and months, and then melt without causing too much chaos.






I especially loved this one...and think this will become a painting very soon.
