Just in Time

Last week, my husband and I decided to go out to dinner to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was a little early, because our anniversary isn't until May, but we knew his deployment was "any day." So we went out to dinner at a restaurant inside a local lodge. And because of that "any day" status, we took the whole family.

The food was good, (servings could have been a little bigger) but talk about sticker shock! Over $200 for that meal. But that's okay...we rarely eat out, and after all, this was a special occasion.

After dinner, Joshua snapped a picture of Jeff and I.

Don't you love the rabbit ears in the reflection?

As it turns out, it was a good thing we went on this night. The next day he got a phone call, "You're leaving tonight."

And such is army life. Make your moments when you can, because there's no such thing as planning!
