The Potted Garden

Well, having this potted garden has been interesting. There have been ups and downs so far. At one point, some "no-see-um" bugs decimated my beans, and a hoard of Colorado Potato Beetles slaughtered my tomatoes. I got some organic spray, and saved those plants. The tomatoes recovered well, and though the bean plants are still alive....I can't say they recovered. They have a handful of leaves...and a bean, LOL The corn in the deep pots are growing well, but the corn in the shallow boxes aren't. They are only about 18 inches tall, but oddly enough, I see some silks forming! How funny is that? The pumpkin plants have giant blossoms...but suddenly they are all falling off, like the are being picked and dropped. Out came the organic spray again, because I can "see" any bugs, but they must be there! It is the same thing that happened to the bean plants - I couldn't see any bugs, but it was like something was cutting off all the leaves, and they would just drop off the stem. My herbs are doing beautifully though.

So we live and learn :-)

Rosemary

Basil

Dragon Tongue Beans

Pole Beans

Can you see the baby cucumber?

Look hard...they are hiding...baby tomatoes!
