Bacon Cheeseburger Roll

This is what we had for dinner tonight...

BACON CHEESEBURGER ROLLS (or Roll-up)

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
4 slices bacon
1 c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Pizza crust dough for one pizza.

In skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside to drain on some paper towels. In the drippings, cook the onion and ground beef until beef is brown and cooked through. Drain off all the grease. Crumble the bacon.
Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle. Top evenly with meat & onions. Sprinkle with bacon, then the cheese. Roll the dough up like a jelly roll, and pinch seam closed.
Place it on a baking sheet/stone, seam side down. Something I forgot to share with the MIH list when I shared this recipe, was to save a little cheese, and sprinkle it over the top before you bake it. The cheese will bake on and get crunchy... MMMMmmmmm!
Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool a few minutes and then slice & serve!

You can also mix 2 Tb each of mustard and ketchup and spread this over the dough before adding the toppings. It is really good that way! You could also add some chopped pickles or anything else you might like in a cheeseburger!

Filling spread over crust dough...

Roll it up from the end...

Place seam down on a stone/sheet and top with some cheese...bake...

The finished product!

Enjoy!

Just wanted you to know I made a variation of your cheeseburger roll today with sausage, onions and peppers and mozzarella. I did use your tutorial for the rolling technique!
