Scalloped Potates & Ham





Scalloped Potatoes & Ham

6 Tb butter, divided
1/4 c flour
1 t salt
1/2 t dried thyme
1/4 ground black pepper
3 c milk
6 cups thinly sliced & peeled potatoes (I use only slightly peeled reds)
1 1/2 c cubed, cooked ham
1 onion, grated or very finely chopped

In a saucepan, melt 4 T butter, stir inflour, salt, thyme & pepper.
Gradually add milk, bring to a boil; cook & stir 2 minutes.
Pour over 1/2 milk mixture, repeat layers.
Cover and bake at 375º for 65-75 minutes or until potatoes are almost done.
Dot with remaining butter and bake uncovered 15-20 more minutes or until potatoes are done.
Allow to cool 5-10 minute before serving.
